We will be doing make up sessions for mouthguards on October 15 from 6-8 pm @ AGame for anyone that would like to have one.

National Youth Sports Foundation for the Prevention of Athletic Injuries reports that if an athlete is not wearing a mouthguard, damage to the teeth is 60 times more likely. But a mouthguard isn’t just for protecting your teeth. Mouthguards can help prevent lacerations, fractures, dislocations, and even concussions.

As parents, we have purchased countless boil and bite mouth guards trying to find one that fits just right.  The bottom line is that Stock and Boil and Bite Mouth guards do not provide the expected care and injury prevention that a properly diagnosed and fabricated custom-made mouth guard does.

The facts:

-          A Properly Fitted Mouth guard Reduces the Chances of Sustaining a Concussion from a Blow to the Jaw or Head

-          An Athlete is 60 times more likely to sustain damage to the teeth when not wearing a protective mouth guard

-          The stock mouth guard, bought at sports stores without the proper fitting, provides a low level of protection, if any.

For the past three years, Dr. Cristin Wallace, DDS has been providing players from the NHL, NFL and the Jr.Predators program, including her own son, the opportunity to come to her office and be fitted for a custom made mouth guard.  Dr. Wallace has offered to expand the offering to any player within the Jr. Predator organization. 

By having an accurate impression of your teeth, the team at McPherson Wallace Dentistry is able to manufacture and deliver the highest-grade Mouth guard available on the market. By using the latest technology available in the dental field, Dr. Wallace is able to engineer a product that is specific for your mouth only; making it easier to breathe, speak and perform to the best of your abilities, safely!

Dr. Wallace is very passionate about the usage of mouth guards and is offering her service and her staff’s time to provide this opportunity to the Jr. Predator players and siblings.  The cost to the player for the custom fitted mouth guard will be $45.  They will be gold in color with the Jr. Predator logo on the front.  Each mouth guard will come with a strap and a case.
